Sand Point Studios is an independent software studio on the shore of Saginaw Bay in Michigan. We build our own products, partner with other independents on joint ventures, and take on custom engineering work when the fit is right.

Thirteen things we build, with our own hands.

Applications built and owned by Sand Point Studios. Each card reflects the current build state honestly. Live means you can use it today. Beta means it works and we are taking testers. Final testing means it is finished and being put through its paces before release. Live internally means we run our own operation on it every day but have not opened it to anyone else yet. In development means exactly that.

Local-multiplayer euchre for your kitchen table.

A faithful euchre game for Android, built for the way the game is actually played — at a table, with people you know. Free single-player against a tuned AI, validated across 5.5 million Monte Carlo matches with zero rule violations and zero seat-level bias. There is a built-in coach that reads your hand and explains the call. Multiplayer runs two ways: over shared WiFi with no internet at all, or online when your table is spread across four houses. A one-time $3.99 host unlock enables hosting once the Play Store listing lands. No ads, no subscription, no accounts.

Wyrdlyre

A voice-driven AI Dungeon Master for tabletop role-playing.

Players speak, an AI Dungeon Master narrates back — in character, with a distinct voice per NPC, across editions from AD&D 1e to 5e 2024. Dice, party play over WebSockets, and a speech pipeline that listens and answers out loud. Behind it sits an unusual AI-tests-AI harness: an automated playtester runs sessions, a narrative judge reads them, and an audio judge listens to the recorded voice beats. Hosted and playable in the browser now. It is in beta, and we are taking tester applications — email the studio if you want a seat at the table.

No Wake Zone

The help desk we built for ourselves, which grew into how the studio runs.

No Wake Zone started as an embeddable help desk — one script tag, answers drawn from your own documentation by a language model on hardware we own, and no chat bubble shouting for attention. Then we pointed it at ourselves, and it kept growing. Today it is the desk the whole studio works from. Reports arrive from four directions — email, the in-app widget, the error monitor, and the customer portal — and land as tickets with threads, dependencies, and service-level clocks. Around that sits a documentation hub with full revision history, a feature backlog that feeds epic planning, a portfolio view and decision registry spanning every project on this page, executive rollups and exports, and an internal launcher gated by group membership. AI does the first pass: new tickets are classified and answered in the support voice of the product they came from. Work gets dispatched to coding agents that pick up tickets, report what blocks them, and hand back. There is a companion phone app for the parts that happen away from a desk. Multi-tenant throughout, so every product gets its own branded widget, its own knowledge base, and conversation history that never crosses over.

Turn photos and screenshots into calendar entries — Outlook or Google.

Snap a picture of a concert poster, a school schedule, a dentist card, or an email screenshot. EventInk reads the date and time, drafts a calendar entry in Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar (your pick — connect one or both), and lets you confirm in one tap. Multi-account, cross-provider duplicate detection, and SMS parsing all included. All ten phases are complete, through to the Outlook add-in that drafts replies from the same engine.

StrataBurn

Four ways to turn an idea into a laser-ready file.

Four modes in one tool. Map mode pulls real elevation data and cuts it into topographic contour layers. DEM mode does the same from a GeoTIFF you supply. Generative mode takes a written prompt and builds layered artwork around it, either as parametric vectors or as a traced stencil render. Image-trace mode turns a photograph into a layered, cut-ready design with fidelity checks on the way out. Targets the xTool P3 80W CO2 laser and exports clean SVG and DXF with LightBurn layer conventions. In beta and taking testers — if you have a laser and a project, get in touch.

Vigil Ledger

An AI CFO for owner-operators running multiple LLCs.

Multi-entity accounting with a GAAP chart of accounts, an immutable double-entry ledger, Section 179 and MACRS depreciation handled side-by-side, QuickBooks Online sync for receipt reconciliation, and a natural-language query agent that runs on your own hardware. Transactions arrive, get matched against rules, and queue for review rather than posting blind — and once a posted entry exists it is reversed, never deleted, because that is what an audit trail means. Receipt vision via Claude, the reasoning via a local 70B model on our own GPUs. We built it to run our own books on.

A locally-hosted ambient personal AI operating system.

An always-on ambient AI layer that watches your email, calendar, finances, and documents — runs local agents for long-form tasks, surfaces the decisions that actually need you, and keeps all of it on your own hardware behind a Tailscale-only firewall. It has been running our own operation daily for months, including a morning briefing written by a 70B model on our own GPUs. Over a thousand API routes and fifteen hundred tests, deployed on a dedicated RTX 5090 server. Built for us first; whether it ever leaves the building is an open question.

A multi-tenant time-tracking platform built for studios, joint ventures, and small operating companies. Organizations and memberships keep each crew’s data isolated, project work-breakdown structures carry per-task budgets and rollups, and the reports module exports CSV, Excel, and PDF in one click. Payroll leaves as a clean CSV your provider can take today; a direct Gusto sync sits behind that in the roadmap. Single sign-on through Cloudflare Access; self-hosted on the same server as the rest of the Vigil family.

A short-term rental ops platform built for the way hosts in Mexico actually work — not a US tool with a Spanish skin. CFDI tax receipts are auto-issued, guest comms run WhatsApp-first, pricing is MXN-native, and the boring parts (calendar sync, payouts, cleaning rotations, supplier ledgers) are first-class. Phase 1 is running our own coastal property end-to-end; Phase 2 opens the platform up to small independent hosts running one to five units.

Agoge Platform

Grading that shows its work, for instructors with more submissions than hours.

A grading and course-content platform for higher education. It reads written work and database assignments against the instructor's own rubric, explains why it landed where it did rather than just returning a number, and leaves the final call with the human. Student data handling is built to the standards schools are actually held to. The same platform generates its own instructional material: describe a spreadsheet lesson in plain language and it drives the real application, records the session, and produces a narrated tutorial video — no screen-capture rigging, no re-shooting when the lesson changes.

Agoge Academic Advisor

A degree plan that actually finishes on time.

Academic advising is a scheduling problem wearing a trench coat: program requirements, course offerings that rotate by term, prerequisites, and a student who needs all of it to line up before funding runs out. This reads the requirements and the schedule, builds a term-by-term plan that completes on time, and surfaces the electives that genuinely fit rather than the ones that merely fill a slot. Running as a live pilot with one graduate program, deliberately narrow until the workflows are proven, with the reasoning done by a model on our own hardware so student records never leave the building.

LedgerLearner

An accounting tutor that refuses to give you the answer.

A student picks a topic, the tutor poses a scenario, and the student proposes the journal entry. From there it argues — challenging the reasoning, pointing at the gap, and never once stating the target answer, until the student gets there on their own. That constraint is the whole product, and it is the hard part: the current phase exists to prove the engine holds the line under students actively trying to trick the answer out of it. Built to run on a school's own hardware, because the tutoring transcript is a record of exactly what a student did not understand.

HaulHard

A trucking app built for the driver, not the dispatcher.

Most trucking software is a fleet console with a driver view bolted on. HaulHard inverts that: the driver is the primary user, the cab is the primary context, and the workflows are designed for greasy gloves in a running truck. Hours-of-service, loads, trip ledgers, fuel and per-diem capture, and the daily paperwork — all readable at a glance, all editable without leaving the seat. Under active build with industry input from working drivers.

Development partnerships

Two entities we build alongside.

Where Sand Point Studios is the engineering partner rather than the product owner — joint ventures with other independents, each one a real company with a real operator on the other side of the table.

Sand Point Studios is the development partner behind OneCut Shop, a forty-five-tool woodshop suite organized into four workshops — design, calculators, reference, and shop management. It started as one segmented-turning calculator and grew from there. Offline-first on purpose: it runs at the lathe or the saw with no WiFi, on iOS, Android, and the web. In private beta ahead of commercial release under OneCut Studios.

Sand Point Studios is the development partner behind the FinishOps platform — estimating, bid packs, scheduling, and field workflow for finishing contractors, with AI doing the takeoff math nobody wants to do twice. It is in production every day at S&S Home Finishes LLC, which is both the first customer and the reason the feature list looks the way it does. The longer-term target is a multi-tenant product for trades businesses across residential and commercial finishing work.

The studio

Sand Point Studios is a Michigan limited liability company, named after Sand Point in Huron County — the thumb of the mitten, on the Saginaw Bay side. The studio builds software the way you would build something out of wood: pick a piece worth keeping, take your time on the joints, and don’t hide the marks.

What started as one person is now a small bench of engineers, analysts, and operators working across the portfolio. We also take on custom builds when the fit is right — especially work that benefits from a small studio that writes its own code and ships it. If you have a project that would fit, we would like to hear about it.

Our education software — grading, degree planning, and tutoring — is built and sold under the Agoge Development name. Same bench, same people, same inbox — schools deal with one company.
